Chick-fil-A has brilliantly advertised its company through promoting the phrase, “eat more chicken” and having cows be the resilient subjects in the commercials. Chick-fil-A is one, of the, if not the, most profitable and fastest growing food chains in America with over 10,000 locations all over the country. They are well known for the cleanliness of the restaurant, the customer service and overall atmosphere of the restaurant, but the number one characteristic of this restaurant is their food. With a wide variety of items on their menu, chicken is a constant with every item, and people flock from all corners to devour it.
America should eat more chicken. Chicken is economically conservative and has multiple health benefits. Chick-fil-A had it right from the beginning and dominated the industry while promoting a healthy food group to Americans.
Beef consumption has been declining for the past decade, as consumers become more health conscious and choose leaner meats and vegetarian options. Red meat has been linked to heart disease and diabetes, and people perceive chicken, a white meat, to be a healthier option. In 2002, beef, a very popular choice of American consumerism, was priced on average at $3.32 per pound while chicken was prices on average under $2.00 per pound, and in 2013 the prices of beef reached an average of $5.36 per pound.
Fast food companies such as McDonalds have been putting more chicken on their menus. McDonald's is the second largest purchaser of chicken in the country right behind KFC and right ahead of Chick-fil-a, but all restaurants saw a 12 percent jump in menu items including chicken from 2009 to
