C104 arms the student with powerful verbal communication skills that ensures effective communication, therefore limiting the costs of miscommunication and the loss of credibility and business. C104 requires students to give 9 speeches, and the final speech is a sales pitch for a unique idea that requires students to masterfully execute verbal communication skills. C104 students could benefit from more team speeches to prepare them for those situations in jobs. C104 aids students in writing presentations, and C204 “prepares each student to write strategic, effective, and ethical messages and to collaborate in global business environments” (_). C204 equips students to write audience centered, action oriented, and information based reports and emails. Additionally, C204 could offer students opportunities to write a good, bad, or neutral letter to aid in the retention of the theoretical skills learned. The skills learned in these two classes allows Kelley students to outperform the competition.
