I personally believe that the blame belongs to the food industry because they actively seek ways to influence a consumer's buying decisions. This is done through psychological influences such as what the documentary states is the “Bliss point”. The “bliss point” is what food manufacturers use to make consumers choose their product and increase consumer satisfaction with their products. In addition to the “Bliss point”, food companies also incorporate situational influences such as to low cost when marketing to consumers, which actually influences their perception that unhealthy foods are the cheaper alternatives to healthy foods which inevitably increase sales on the unhealthy options and decrease sales on the healthier options.
