Black Lives Matter? How can we solve it? Beginning in the year 2012, when the killing of Trayvon Martin, by George Zimmerman was verdict not guilty, a community activist Alicia Garza wrote a plea on Facebook of “Black Lives Matter”. After the plea of “Black Lives Matter” there was a mass spread of social media platforms that led to the streets and online. Then in 2014, two unarmed African American men, Michael Brown from Ferguson and Eric Garner from New York died by police officers (Miller 1). Due to these events, the Black Lives Matter movement campaigned for only those who were black, and focused their motto on police brutality and injustice.

The issue that comes to mind with media manipulation is that they only state their opinion, do not state the specific details of the story at hand, and give too much attention to the matter. Also, when it comes to celebrities, when they address their opinion on the matter, most of the time people follow their opinions and ideals. For example, when Beyoncé and the New York Times start promote the Black Lives Matter then people will follow and will raise the hate. The issue with this is that we judge too quickly on actions taken and thus, cause unnecessary hate in the country. Therefore, I purpose that we put everyone in favor of the Black Lives Matter in the policeman shoes. By doing so the people will see the policeman’s point of view and eventually, the people may understand the why the police officers do what they do. Also, Black lives Matter need to realize that it is not always rainbows and unicorns and that sometimes people get hurt. In fact, from a policeman’s point of view from a distance they cannot tell if there is a gun behind the suspects back. Also, if the hate of a policeman is because they killed a Black man, then why don’t we hate when a Black man kills a policeman.
