What Is Bilbo Hero's Journey

There are numerous amounts of qualities describing the traits of a true hero. The Hobbit is a classic tale written by J.R.R. Tolkien that tells the reader incredible journeys of a hero. Bilbo embarks on a traditional quest that takes him away from his ordinary life. Throughout his adventure, he encounters various obstacles. With the help of his friends, Bilbo was able to overcome his challenges. Starting off with a call to adventure, Bilbo at first refuses the quest and denies to leaving his ordinary life as a Hobbit. A very important trait of a traditional expedition is heroic actions that are considered courageous. The Hobbit was a very good example of this, as the characters face multiple threats to safety and well-being. The hero is called away from his/her’s ordinary life, and would go on quests that would not happen ordinarily. In the Hobbit, Gandalf invited Bilbo Baggins to an adventure of a lifetime. In other stories, such as Star Wars written by George Lucas, messages or signs calls the hero to a journey. Luke Skywalker received a message from R2D2 -a friendly robot- which set this ordinary character into being a hero. Like in every other adventure themed book, the hero at first denies the quest. Overtime, something about the hero convinces them to accept the offer of an adventure. After the call to adventure, the journey begins.
