Coming from an extremely poor environment, Dr. Carson nominated the low chance he had in life and became a somebody that many people consider him their role-model. In elementary school, Ben Carson struggled in school and was considered the “class dummy.” His mother Sonya Carson tried to push and encourage her kids in school. She wanted them to have an education and have an advantage. Carson gives much of his credit to his mother who worked extremely hard in poor jobs just so that her sons could have a future. In middle school and High School, Carson starting becoming a bright student and eventually graduated High School with honors. Attending Yale University with some scholarship, he found himself more interested in neurosurgery than phycology.
