Being an American soldier…. What did I get myself into? When the Japanese attacked Pearl Harbor I immediately made the conscience decision to join the service. It was as if I had to do it. I didn’t realize or understand what was going on, but I know I had to fight for my country. It’s what made me who I am today. What I didn’t understand is how scared and speechless I would be. Watching for bombs….. Watching behind my back. Everything just seems so unreal, but I’m doing what I feel is right. Being an American soldier is something that no one can imagine. You can’t dream of it, you have to become one. It’s the ultimate sacrifice, but it is so worth it. I do miss my family, but this is what I’m doing it for. I am doing it for my country. This
