A historic neighborhood in the city of Boston, Massachusetts, Beacon Hill is one of the most picturesque areas in the city. Beacon Hill features steep streets scaling with Victorian and Federal-style brick row houses that are lit by pretty antique lanterns. The brick sidewalks, and gas-lit narrow streets give this locale a historically vintage look. Today, the locality is considered one of the costliest and most desirable neighborhoods to live in Boston. The name Beacon Hill is attributed to the gold-domed Massachusetts State House.
