Effects On Children's Personality
As Authoritarian Parents are not very responsive and expect children to follow the rules, these children may develop self-esteem problems. As a result, children become hostile or agressive. These children grow up focussing on being angry at their parents for the punishment rahter than learning how to solve problems and make decisions. Pre-schoolers are unhappy with their parents. They appear insecure and anxious. These children lack motivation, lack spontaneity and rely on the voice of authority. This also results in breaking child's will.

Children grow up developing a false sense of control over adults which increases their manipulative behaviors. They are less likely to develop self-respect.
