What Is At Least 3 Interesting Skills

Decent Essays
1. Tell me about your skills and strengths.
My skills and strengths is that I like socializing with people and getting to know who they are. I am also organized and committed to anything I am involved in such as, activities, sports, and work. I am bilingual and I believe it is important to learn more than one language in work fields. I am also good with computers, which is important as well since technology changes a lot throughout the years.
2. Discuss at least three interesting things/or things you learned from class. What made these things interesting?
The first interesting thing I learn in this class was knowing when the Miranda Rights is used. I did not know that it is only used when a police officer is going to question a person. The second interesting thing I learn is to pay attention how a person acts before they do something. For example, the video I was shown in class is where a guy is stealing toilet paper; he acted nervous and kept looking around to see if anyone was watching him. I find this interesting because many people do get nervous and panic before they steal since they know it is wrong. Lastly, I learned that when someone gets pulled over and they have someone else in the car, the other person has the right to not say anything. I find this interesting because on most TV shows I see police officers questioning all the people in the car.

For example, the idea of communicating with a professor through email or text messaging. Being formal and asking only questions is something that can make the relationship between student and teacher successful. Also I enjoyed learning about the behaviors of how not to act during class, and how to be an engaged learner and a good note takes. The idea of how to make people like you also stuck out to me, and made me think of how I can just simply listen to what others have to say and just smile and relate to what they are saying and this will make them feel more understood and welcomed as a friend. Lastly, the one topic that I thoroughly took to heart was the idea of preparing for a lecture before the lesson.…

I learned that ignorance impedes progress. This isn’t a narcissistic claim that I have all the answers, rather, I learned from this class that no one has the knowledge necessary to make informed decisions. There were times that I would listen to debate and be appalled by how little people knew about the topic and how the policy being discussed would affect the topic. Conversely, there were times were I knew so little that I didn’t even vote.…

An officer should have a social understanding of everything going on because they are the ones that need to understand the client and make sure they understand them. The officers want to explain their client’s behavior and his/her personality to the situation in which they are acting. Active listening is an important trait to have when you are an officer because they want to communicate with their clients with understanding of what they said so they can give feedback that helps them the best it can and to confirm the understanding of both parties. Some of the strengths are: people person, hands, and problem solving. The first one is a strength because in this field of work we deal a lot with the public and being extroverted means that I enjoy talking to people. When competing a task in the field most of the task are hands on and being able to pick up on task just by seeing them is a huge plus because there might not always be written directions. When working in the field somethings might not go as planned and being able to trouble shoot things on the fly and be able to fix what when wrong right on the spot is important. Some of the key weakness about my personality are: talking too much, and over thinking things.…

Identifying a particular strength is not an easy task, with this being said, two of my greatest strengths are strategic thinking and relationship building. Strategic thinking is one of my greatest strengths because I like to examine problems before I deal with them and consider the various options that are available to me. Relationship building is my other strength because I am able to empathize and connect to others quite easily. When we know what are strengths are it is easier for us to use those to help others and ourselves. In my opinion, being self-aware of who we are is vital to our growth in life and our career. If you do not know who you are, it is harder to be a leader in any organization. “Self-awareness means you see your talents and strengths clearly, but it also means you are aware of your weaknesses” (Clifton, Anderson, & Schreiner, 2006). After taking the StrengthsFinder survey by Donald Clifton, I found that my five greatest strengths are futuristic, significance, deliberative, analytical, and responsibility.…

Many students do not have the opportunity to experience a class that influences their lives, but I was fortunate enough to have such an experience. The subject that has influenced me the most is AP Environmental Science (APES). The class focuses on the world we live in and explains how people’s actions can either harm or benefit the environment. With each chapter, the teacher provided real world examples, along with important analysis, to describe how humans affect their own ecosystems. Such an example is how China continues to deplete the world's resources and how there are many different types of sustainable ways to get energy through which I never knew existed.…

When I enrolled in English 325, I was fairly certain I knew what the class was about. I believed that I would be writing papers using specific medical terminology.
