What Is America's Gift To My Generation

“America’s Gift to my Generation” No matter what branch they are in, soldiers deserve all the respect we can possibly give. A few people in my own family have served in the military, like, my brother, my great grandfather, my great uncle, and even I desire to join someday. In my opinion, the best gift we have is that we have valiant soldiers to protect us so that we can have our freedom. To begin with, I believe that our veterans are some of the most courageous people in America. They are the reason that we have all of the freedoms that we have. We owe all of our appreciation to them because they went out and did what no one else wanted to do, they fought for us, some losing their lives in the process. It takes a lot of determination to

In America, we have the right to vote, work, drive and many more activities we can partake in and to this we owe our veterans. It’s because of them that I can walk freely; they inspire me. Throughout their days of duty, they were motivated to fight for their values. They act as a martyr for the country and that’s a job most people are far from willing to take. Most people in America have nice lives and it's because of the women and men who serve for this nation.…

They fought for their rights and freedoms and acquired them. They did not sit back and wait for change to happen, which would have been just dandy with the majority of the United States Congress, and much of America in general. Much of America was content with how blacks were treated unjustly, and would have been that way for years to come. This proves that fighting for your liberty is the only way to obtain…

Veteran: a person who has served in the military. That’s the definition that Google gives you when you type it in, but to me a veteran is more than that. I come from a military family. Words like loyalty and respect are commonly used in my home especially when it comes to describing my father and my grandfather, both veterans who have given up their time to serve this nation. Due to my father serving overseas, I know how it feels to wake up in the morning, walk down the hall, and expect to see a warm smile welcoming you to the kitchen, but instead find that it is not there.…

“The true soldier fights not because he hates what is in front of him, but because he loves what is behind him,” said G.K. Chesterton. A love for their country is why my veterans serve. It never really sunk into me how much veterans sacrifice for us. I think that we need to show as much respect to people that have served in the military forces to make us be able to be free. Or be able to pursue whatever we would like to.…

Veterans play an important role in society today and the history of not only America as a whole, but the people who live in it. They have earned us our freedom and our rights, and even continue to help even after leaving the battlefield, whether by actively playing a role in their community or going on living the lives they earned for America. Having no veterans would signify no victorious battles or even fights to begin with. The veterans that America celebrates show that America stood and still stands for values and independence. They play a key role in history- who ever read a textbook that didn’t mention ferocious warriors or soldiers conquering forgotten cities?- and create our future at the same time.…

The veteran's service is an amazing program and every veteran who enters will be there until they die or are old enough to retire. Back in the Vietnam war some veterans were not thanked because they didn’t win the war. When people go up to a veteran and say thank you for your service they try holding back the tears because people didn’t appreciate them when they lost. Although the people also didn’t seem to care that they tried there hardest and lost about 530,000 men. This is why we need to keep lincoln's promise.…
