The documentary ‘Zombie: Haiti’s Longstanding Tradition’ (Zombie: Haiti’s Longstanding Tradition, 2005) contained information regarding the original Haitian version of Zombies and how they are created. Some other things also featured in this film include how “zombie powder” is made, how people are brought back from the brink of death, and how people are forced to become these “zombies” so that people may use them as slaves. The idea of zombies has been a part of our world since the 8th century. In fact, the word zombie has been derived from zonbi, which was “used in the Louisiana Creole or the Haitian Creole that represents a person who died and was then brought to life without speech or free will,” (Ahmadmad, 2013).…
The Zombie Apocalypse is an event I feel I've been prepped for my entire life. Assuming typical scary movie rules apply: in order to survive I must find a rag tag group of people who are sane as well as very skill at using weapons. To help prevent being that that cliché person that trips, my team and I would raid a shoe store for well fitting, non slip shoes. Next we would wear various layers of coats just in case if we were caught, zombies would struggle to get to our flesh and we would have time escape from their grasp. Next we would travel north and go to a region that was not very populated prior to the apocalypse.…
Guns Girl - School DayZ is a game by Team 4inch that features an anime style RPG game where you have a bunch of cute girls fighting over a swarm of zombies girls because your goal here is to survive this one hell of an apocalypse and leave the campus alive without becoming an undead. In this story, apparently, the apocalypse is something that happens every century where people lose their minds and become zombies. Yes, every century, funny one at that. To survive, you'll need to equip yourself with a good variety of weapons and uniforms that can change the look of your characters.…
"THE WALKING DEAD"strolls on the 8th spell! Together they struggle to survive and adapt in a post-apocalyptic world filled with walkers and opposite groups of survivors, and they are often more terrible than the walkers themselves. Phew! Yes, that is "THE WALKING DEAD".…

In the article Our Zombies, Ourselves, by James Parker, it talked about a variety of movies that entertained zombies. Throughout history there are decades of zombie stories. These lead into the video games and the way people fixate on zombies today. Zombies were a part of a “Caribbean folk nightmare.” (Parker)…
People are stronger when working together and it is best to get over differences with others to come together as one. It is a wonderful lesson for the characters and for the readers that could greatly impact the world as we know it and create a more loving place for…
The last and seemingly people's least favorite of Romero's Dead films, Survival of the Dead isn't actually all that bad. It's a far better film than its predecessor Diary of the Dead, at least in my opinion. Returning the standard third person perspective and adopting a more humorous approach, Survival isn't a seemingly endless slog. The films tone is probably the lightest of the Dead films, which at times does push over the border of funny, to simply camp pander. Though we also get a slew of like-able, though not often relate-able characters.…
There are many times when us as humans use the offensive term, “you look like a zombie!” But why exactly do we use this term? How does it relate to the subjected person? When we say that someone is acting like a zombie, I assume you can guess it doesn’t mean that they’re stumbling around trying to eat brains. The statement is actually referring to their appearance, such as if they have messy hair or bags under their eyes from staying up too late the night before, or their behaviors, such as if they’re moping around and walking slow.…
With the traditional tale of zombies going further back than most alive can remember, let’s hope you have entered the realm of the undead at least once in your life. Whether just randomly stumbling upon the topic in your favorite magazine or being a hardcore dedicated zombie fan, most people past the age of eight years old will more than likely know what a zombie is. How can the details of these intense creatures not be planted in your minds? Rotten flesh, amputated limbs, exposed organs, and the intimidating slow movement of these monsters who were once humans. These monsters where once people with lives, with families, a real career path, and an appetite for delicious foods, only to result to them striving for a different kind of food, brains.…
In this kind of generation, I can’t tell you enough how people want some type of weapon and start bashing on zombies. They have no type of regard that if dead ever did start walking this earth, they’re in no condition to actually combat it. With the new Millennia passing us up with new movies and video games portraying different types of walking dead, the common zombie was transformed. No longer did we have the casual skeleton or corpse being controlled by wizards or the apocalypse reigning from the heavens, they’re definitely more to that now. The Animated Dead, class 4 with a touch of pathogen that everyone affected is what we’re specifically talking about.…
In one of the most infamous horror film scenes from Silence of the Lambs (1991, dir. Jonathan Demme), FBI agent Clarice Starling played by actress Jodie Foster staggers shaking and gasping for air as she tries to escape serial killer Buffalo Bill’s (actor ted levine) basement in the pitch darkness. The audience sees and follows Clarice through Bill’s night vision goggles. Placing the viewer in Bill’s perspective gives the popular human fear of being watched in the dark a terrifying realness. Filmmakers use perspective, lighting, and time to create a serial killer character and target the audiences fear of the uncertainty of darkness.…
“Life moves pretty fast. If you don’t stop and look around once in awhile, you might miss it” Ferris Bueller. This is a quote from one of my all time favorite movies, Ferris Buellers Day Off. In the movie, three very different friends skip school for the day, and explore the city of Chicago.…
The characters that face crises choose paths that reflect how they act as a person,…
Could you ever imagine waking up one day and everything was different? Not being able to be sprawled out in your perfectly good bed each morning, but waking up in various locations for protection. Having to carry some sort of weapon every time you go outside just in case you run into a pack of zombies looking for fresh flesh. This all seemed too much and it was only my first year at Missouri State. A zombie apocalypse was not something I expected from college, especially to be one of the few survivors’ left on campus.…
