The Last Supper that Jesus had with his disciples was the last meal they all had with him before his crucifixion. In the short story, Mary’s thoughts are unclear and makes the reader guess whether if she is being avoiding her husband’s discussion or if her intention is to actually execute him. She could have planned to prepare a meal, his last meal, before killing him. Patrick tried to stop her several times but maybe after every try, it got her closer to making the ultimate decision.…

In the Last Supper, which is mentioned in all four of the gospels, Jesus sits down and explains to his disciples the events that were going to take place in the near future. While Jesus knew who was to turn against him that did not stop him from sharing one last meal with them. Jesus himself knew that this would be his end as he says “the son of man will go just as it is written about him” (Luke 26:24) A transformation happened for all that were in the room as thoughts of the future I’m sure seemed unreal as the biggest change to ever happen was about to occur. I think of the disciples as they thought about which one was going to betray their beloved Lord and how terrifying of a thought it must have been.…

John 6:1-14 serves as a “reminiscent of the miraculous feeding through Moses” during the wandering in the wilderness “following their exodus from Egypt and preceding their entrance into the promised land” (Exodus 16:4-36), events commemorated by the Passover feast (Heil, 53). In John 6:1-14, Jesus feeds a crowd of about five thousand (6:10) with the overabundance of bread and fish (6:5-13) when the Passover, the feast of the Jews, was near (6:4). All the events of John 6 are placed in a Passover context (6:4). The fact that a large crowd of people was following Jesus and seeing the signs He was performing on the sick (6:2) tells readers of the further signs: the theme of believing in Jesus as the sacrificial Passover lamb of God central to…

Despite our personal views, paintings, sculptures, places, and churches reflect worldview and civic identity. In the “Last Supper,” Leonardo shows monumental simplicity (Bondanella and Musa 48). His composition is masterful. He strikes the contrast of the disciples’ attitudes as counter posed to that of Christ. Instead of choosing the portrayal of Judas as customary in the iconographic tradition, he portrayed the moment of highest tension in the New Testament as in the bible, “One of you that eat with me will betray me."…

Therefore, for people who know the prophecies, know that he is the Son of God. An iconic image that is very well known is “The last supper” an image of Jesus and his disciples having their last supper before Jesus was crucified on the cross. Many people in the christian faith, love the painting of that last supper because it was a touching moment and it shows how humble Jesus was when He knew He was going to be betrayed by one of his disciples, therefore, leading to crucifixion. The last supper had more of a significance to it, it was also known as the passover meal, Jesus’ command to remember what He was about to do on behalf of all mankind: shed His blood on the cross thereby paying the debt of our sins (Luke 22:19). Therefore using the passover to have a new covenant, there was two symbols associated with the passover and to remind them about the sacrifice.…
