“Middle School is frightening, I can’t believe I have to do three years in this place”, 6th grader me said that back in 2012. “I think I’m getting the idea of everything, even being at a new school”, 7th grade Tyler stated that in 2014. “ Last year until we get to the real deal… High School”, 8th grade me is still saying that to this day. Middle School has been a crazy ride and I’m going to share that now. Let's get started, shall we.
Starting 6th grade, I was tiny, I mean, I got made fun of by 5th graders who towered over me. I wasn’t new to the area so I came into Middle School with some friends backing me up.First day of school, we arrived on the bus acting as crazy as normal kids and the thought of starting a new grade made me sick to my stomach. Especially since I had to start at the bottom and work my way back up the ladder. It was chaos the rest of the day. Kids were crying for their

The first day of school wasn’t bad at all, I walked up to the black top with all of my friends and it was a great day. The middle of the year went by really fast. We practically zoomed through January, February, March, and April. Now like the past two years, I received some news but this time, it was amazing news. Leighton, the one I talked about earlier, had his last session of Chemotherapy. Me and a few other friends had the chance to go spend the last eight minutes of his session with him. It was an amazing day and I don’t think I will ever forget. Plus, Casen was being really stupid and almost broke the rotating door. 8th grade still isn’t over for me, you can probably tell since I am writing this essay, but I plan on going out with a bang. I love all of my friends and teachers and I thank them for helping me get through the

This personal narrative is going to be about the first day of Middle School and my experiences as a 6th grader. It is going to go after my emotions and other descriptive details of the first day. During that time I knew nothing about being in a big school because the biggest school i've been in was yankee ridge. (Which is really small).…

“There are far better things ahead than any we leave behind.- C.S. Lewis” Fifth grade was a year of representing the lower school as the “seniors”. In lower school we had no freedom; we had to ask to go five feet away like Pre-K. Finally, in the small cafeteria which smelt like pasta all the time, we had to be quiet. Though in sixth grade we have more work, sixth grade is superior to fifth. In fifth grade, we were the top of the food chain of the lower school.…

As I arrived I felt like a grain of rice in this big school. I realized that the kids around me were going through the same thing. I experienced changing out for P.E., having 8 periods, opening my locker, and things like that weren’t as horrible as I had made it out to be. My 6th grade teacher had prepared me for 7th grade a huge amount. So seventh grade flew by.…

The girl I adored in middle school is dead, I’m not sure when she died, maybe yesterday or the day before. Anyhow, our relationship instituted on the bus. All the older kids on the bus were cruel to the younger riders. However she never displayed any bitterness toward me. School is an extraordinary journey that prepares us for life’s challenges in the future. I knew middle school wasn’t going to be filled with coloring activities and jigsaw puzzles like what I had experienced in elementary school. My junior high years were unexpectedly difficult. The first day of Highschool is perhaps one of the most memorable days of your life. Walking into a new big building, being assigned a locker, and shown your schedule, the hustle, and bustle of kids running back and forth to their classes, the laughter echoing around the halls. And then you, standing in the middle of it all it feels almost as if you were on pause and the rest of the world continued to play. Feeling alone, frightened, but at the same time excited. For me, it was that and much more.…
