The way I want to be remembered is the person who worked very hard in school and on the soccer field. Not only achieving school goals, but also soccer. If I were to leave a great legacy, I would definitely hope I touched a lot of people's lives. If I left behind the legacy I want, my friends and family would remember me as the hardworking student with an athletic ability. Not only do I want my friends and family to remember me, I want my teachers to remember me and the student who always participated and tried the hardest to achieve his goals. I hope people after me will look back at me and think of me as their role model. This may be hard to achieve, but if I stay dedicated and hard working my reputation would stay retained forever. Everyone wants to leave behind a legacy; something people will remember them by. When we think of others that have passed on we often remember them for a certain quality they possessed. We also remember people for the type of person they were and what they took through life with them. Recently, I read “The Last Lecture” by author Randy Pausch. A legacy is your reputation, you build it up day by day so when you do leave or die everyone will remember you forever. Great legacies are hard to come by because one slip up here or there you have to start all over again. Sometimes if a slip up is bad enough there is no fixing your legacy. Like most people I hope my legacy will be of importance and make people want to be just like me and follow in my footsteps. There is one man that has strongly preached leaving a great legacy for myself.…

A messy bedroom, Arctic Monkeys as background music, and an adolescent begrudgingly writing an essay for their twelfth grade English class is the current scene. This is the perspective of a senior; an absolutely glamorous time in life. It's an alarming thought that my high school career has brought me to this point as I search my mind for the correct words to advise you and my fingers tap away at my small keyboard. I'm supposed to give advice and guidance to the future graduates of our beloved Quincy High School, but there's little I can give that can be completely relatable to all. For example, I was raised by a single father, am a part-time cashier, and can barely figure out how the Pythagorean theorem will actually affect my adult life.…

In the past four years, I have had many experiences with family, friends and an extreme amount of clubs, activities, and home life occasions I am involved in. But in all honesty sports have taught me a lot about people, life and even myself. I have been a part of many teams in my lifetime and played several abstract sports, but at Summit Academy High School the sports are very unique. There are mixed attitudes towards the teams, players and coaches that you would not see at any other school. But I like to call them obstacles and challenges.…

In considering my lifetime goals, I have to discuss my past experiences in order for the Admission Committee to have insight into my journey to achieve academic excellence with the ultimate goal of becoming a part of the medical community. As far as I can remember, I always wanted to be part of the medical community; I believe that this quest started from my mother’s womb. The reason for this statement is because my mother experienced two great losses during her pregnancy with me; the loss of her sister who passed away after a short-term battle with cancer, and the loss of her best friend to a fatal gunshot wound due to a long-term battle with domestic violence. I genuinely believe I felt my mother’s heartache and pain within during these difficult moments in her life. Even though such heartache and pain plagued my mother, she tells me that I was the gift she needed to survive these moments.…

I walked into the familiar main entrance of the school, crossing my arms and setting my face into what I thought was an intimidating glare. Although I looked like an angry toddler, with my round face and childish glower, my attitude came across very clearly: I was not happy at all to be back at school. After getting into a huge fight with my friend group earlier that year, I was starting high school essentially friendless. It wasn’t as if I didn’t have another group of people to fall back onto.…
