Although Ms. Gray has good intentions, the dilemma is certainly unethical. When using the 8 steps it’s important to distinguish every detail that makes the situation unethical. In this case, its crucial that we consider who’s involved. Not only does this dilemma involve Ms. Gray and Eric but the members of her household as well. Ms. Gray houses her daughter, grand-daughter, and nephew, which means they are now involved in the dilemma. In addition, Practitioners need to be mindful of what’s at stake. As Ms. Grays colleague I would start with speaking with her first. “Human service professionals respond appropriately to the unethical and problematic behavior of colleagues. Usually, this means initially talking directly with the colleague and if no satisfactory resolution is achieved, reporting the colleague's behavior to supervisory or administrative staff” (NHS, 2015). In the hope that, she would be open minded and try to find another solution for Eric’s living arrangement, this would be the best approach. Nonetheless, as previously stated if the colleague disagrees with my ethical beliefs I would be obligated to report her to my supervisor. Unfortunately, this could lead to her losing her job in the helping profession while forcing Eric into another unstable living
