January 30, 2017 I believe going to college is worth it, depending on how dedicated you are to committing yourself to work. I my eyes, if you will be going into career that is necessary for you to go through college, like medical career or law, you will need to take time on college. College is an advantage because it will raise your pay in any job, no matter what it may be. If your family can afford a college, I would say take the chance and grow from the community. College is a whole new world and it teaches many life lessons, even if you don’t need to go for a degree.

As Wielder Ben says, Peter Thiel of PayPal will pay 24 college students $100,000 not to attend college, and to develop business ideas instead. Ben's argument is that students are taking on more debt and their debt is harder to shake because of new bankruptcy laws. If you are planning on working as a handyman, mechanic, or carpenter you will not need to attend college because you need to start your career to make money, Crawford, Matthew B. "Without the opportunity to learn through the hands, the world remains abstract and distant, and the passions for learning will not be engaged" (Crawford). If you only need hands on training, then it is suggested that you skip college.
I still think that attending college is a great opportunity, and even though some people believe it isn't necessary I believe that it will aid you in the future. For some people, college is too expensive for them to attend and would rather get to working as soon as possible. I think that in some cases, college is a great growing opportunity, but it is all about what the student takes out of the opportunity. College is necessary for those who are going to be in a medical field, or someone who needs a degree for work, but it all depends on who you are and what your family
