How Do Parents Influence Decision Making Decisions

As children are having new experiences everyday, a question forms on what influences parents have on their decisions. My research question is precisely that, with different parenting styles, is the child’s ability to make decision effectively changed with the amount or style of parent authority and discipline? I have been curious on why teenagers and even younger children make the decisions that they do. When a person is younger there seems to be less of an immediate impact associated with their decisions and the impact grows along with the person and their responsibilities. Are their decisions because they are rebelling or testing limits, or is it because they feel like it is the most logical choice? While in class, we talked about emerging adulthood and socialization, and decision making is necessary for both sociological events. The socialization of a child has the impact to change the decisions made while becoming an adult. There is also an importance to be able to figure out how a person will make their decisions based on their environment. It could have a part in shaping people to create different decisions and change their reasons in their decision making process. It varies for each gender on what is more likely to be accepted as discipline for making the wrong decision, males are more accepting of the methods of love withdrawal and power assertion where females are more responsive to the method of induction and reasoning. Then, there is also the influence on the parent’s giving the child autonomy which comes with age and economic independence.
