King is one of America’s most intriguing authors and has written some of the most compelling novels in the 20th century. Stephen King has written some twisted pieces of literature during the late 20th century. As a result of several hardships in his early life, these events, arguably give a direct relationship to some of King’s writing. Stephen King’s life has influenced his writing, the parts of his life that applies to his writing is fear, abandonment, and addiction.
While starting off as an English teacher, he started to define him self as a writer and published short stories. Stephen King has roughly published a little over 50 books, also several books under the name Richard Bachman. However, growing up and having no father, he did not realize how much it hurt him and his mother, and how it hurt their everyday lives. “When love leaves the world all hearts are still. Tell them of my love and tell them of my pain and tell them of my hope, which still lives. For this is all I have and all I am and all I ask” (King). King wrote this quote, stating that even when love left him, he still wants people to know that it mentally wounded him, but he still wants people to know that his hope still lives no matter that damage that has occurred.
