I have not decided on what program I would like to study. I have been leaning more towards masters in Human Resources. I would like to study this so I can open a non-profit organization. My non-profit organization would involve suicide prevention. I want to be able to help people in need in whatever way that I can. Starting this organization could save lives. It would be my way of giving back to the community. Another career route I would like to go is helping military adolescent children. My father has been deployed several times. Children need their parents in their lives. I understand that it is a difficulty thing to go through. Having to wonder if you spouse or parent is going to make it home from deployment. I loved that I finally had a study home environment although I enjoyed moving it felt good to have a place to call home. There were some negative things that happened because I moved around a lot. Leaving my home in Mexico and coming to a boarding school in the U.S. was a major lifestyle change for me. I lived in Mexico my whole life before I moved to PPAS at 13 years of age. My first day was difficult, but unlike other students, I was not homesick. My parents had prepared me since I was a small child to one day be prepared to leave home and make my own life. This was my first step into my ultimate goal: attending college in the U.S. I also had to learn how to make new friends, who in retrospect, were in the same situation being in a new school system, with grades, schedules, and teaching that were different from the Mexican system.…

Growing up in a military family never allowed me to settle down and call a single place home. Starting with what felt like a new life every four years, with new people in an unfamiliar place definitely helped to shape me into the person that I am today. The idea that I was given in fourth grade of moving from Germany back to the United States was difficult to believe, but the idea of moving there with only my mother was unfathomable. Yet after a short time, what seemed to be unimaginable was fairly simple. I was able to adjust quickly; I soon graduated middle school and was accepted into Wayne School of Engineering.…
