When your going through a tough time you learn lessons. Learning a lesson while going through something rough is one of the best things that can happen. I personally have been through some stuff that I didn't expect or want it to be like. For an example, in 8th grade I was on the A team the whole year until the last game, I got moved down to the B team. I wasn't getting the minutes I was wanting to get on the A team and I didnt know why. It was because I didn't work hard enough in practice. I learned a lesson after that. I learned my lesson that year. I never wanted to not play because of my practice and not working hard enough, so the next year I came out really strong, working so hard and became a starter and eventually the leading scorer my freshman year in highschool. …show more content…
Now that doesnt mean you have to fail at something to become successful but if you look at all the basketball players in the NBA, a very small percentage of players came from rich families. That means all of them had to go through adversity to get to where they want to be. They realized what it takes to become what they want to become, so they put in the work and had to fight through all the adversity.
This doesn't just apply to NBA players or other athletes that come from the bottom, this can apply to anyone. They could be stuck in poverty and there only way out could be through their grades in school to be able to go to college and get a good job. It helps more than some high schoolers think to get good grades. If you think of your grades as scholarship money for college then you'll be able to go to a good college then get a good

Never Give Up I have faced much adversity in my life. The one time in my life where I feel I have faced the most adversity, was in basketball. There are people that argue that college athletes are paid enough by the scholarships that they acquire to the big Universities. They are worth according to Jeffery Dorfman author of “Pay College Athletes? They’re Already Paid Up To $125,000 Per Year” he argues that “a student athlete at a major conference school on full scholarship is likely receiving a package of education, room, board, and coaching/training worth between $50,000 and $125,000 per year depending on their sport and whether they attend a public or private university” (Dorfman). People don’t believe that there should be money going into these athletes pockets because they are on scholarships and that should be enough.…

Many people do not understand all the labor and hard work that is put into making a sport seem easier than it really is. A sport like basketball isn’t just unintelligent men aiming to get a ball through a hoop. There is a lot more that goes on behind the scenes. NBA star Kareem Abdul-Jabbar shared his experience with the world when he expressed his collegiate sports struggles, “Despite the hours I put in every day, practicing, learning plays, and traveling around the country to play games, and despite the millions of dollars our team generated for UCLA—both in cash and in recruiting students to attend the university—I was always too broke to do much but study, practice, and play.” College sports is streamed nationwide, and millions of people watch and cheer on the players all throughout the season.…

As seen in Outliers and the Old Man and the Sea if you have support from someone that you love then, your state of wealth and poverty are not the only factors of becoming…

Over the years, statistics have shown that NBA players who go to college tend to avoid bankruptcy just as frequently as those who go straight to the NBA from high school. [MC(1)] Along with this, findings also show that players should have to go through at least two years of college. Reading is a crucial element that parents should teach their children to instill into their life. The benefits of children who read more include being more academically inclined, better at logical thinking, and expanding their vocabulary more. In order to help parents administer the importance of reading to their children, we must find a way where children can view reading as a positive task and not a dreadful chore. This can be done through three different ways: classical conditioning, operant conditioning, and observational learning. These principles will help motivate children to read more often and help parents stimulate their children to have positive future results.…
