I moved in the middle of my junior year of high school. At my old high school in California, I was a cheerleader. Cheering was what I loved, and after settling in, I decided I wanted to try out at my new school. Friends were hard to find during this time in the move and I believed I could only make a lot of friends if I made the team. I took classes to prepare myself and was hopeful when tryouts came. The style of cheers they were teaching were unlike what I was used to, and I realized that I was the only girl trying out who did not know anyone else, which made me anxious.
