Writing has not been my strongest subject throughout my time being in school. I’ve always struggled with the English language since it was my second language. This transferred to my writing and it was very noticeable. However, during my time in the Writing 39 series, it has influenced me to use the strategies I learned in writing and apply it to other classes. One thing I’ve discovered from being in Writing 39B is how to interpret the author’s purpose. I learned that usually the author is not straightforward with the main idea and that they will hide it in the context. For example, I had taken a criminology class and it involved a lot of reading. My professor warned us that the reading was hard to understand and that not even grad students
