A- As this class was very challenging for me, it really made me pay attention to what was being taught. In other classes I am not very challenged and because of that it caused those classes to not be difficult. As I am pushed to my limits in this class, it has really helped me intake the information that I am being educated on and hopefully be able to use it in the future.
Q- In what ways did you challenge yourself academically in this class?
A- To challenge myself academically in this class, I made sure that I put out my best work and was there everyday ready to learn. I would wake up every school morning after 6-6 ½ hours of sleep from doing the hours of homework from this class the night before and when I’d get up I’d be terrified that I was most likely going to get even more than the previous night. As you told us in the beginning of the school about your time going into college and how no one would ever tell you what you needed improve on made me realize that I can almost relate to that in a way. Going from Mr. Smiley who was a little bit demanding to you being full out dictatorial with our homework was a hard transition. Doing 2-4 hours of homework a night and staying up until midnight to make sure it was good quality work was a very challenging task. To turn in my work and find out that it was either B or C quality work was very disappointing, but in the end it did show me what I need to improve on. Having a teacher that finally told me that my work was not great was actually pleasing. It showcased the areas that needed to be worked on in order to raise my writing skills.
