What I Learned In The Classroom Observation Class

This course has helped my this semester in many ways, such as preparing me for career fair and reminding me to stay organized. The book is also very helpful because it talks about real life examples and is relatable. For career fair, it was nice to have an edited resume and to have a guide for our elevator speeches. The worksheets that show us how we use our time are nice because you can really see how much time you waste. I believe that this class keeps our hall a little closer, and helps us get to know each other better. The class helps me adjust to campus life by requiring us to go to different activities and events. I think I would have gone to the events without knowing I have to without this class, but it is still nice. What surprised

I have been impressed with the readings for this class. When it comes to incivility, it is interesting to see that even though it has been published in a book and articles have been written, there are still those who do not understand the magnitude of this issue in higher education or in the general public. I agree with Twale and DeLuca, when they state that incivility has behaviors that are indicative of bullying (Twale & DeLuca, 2008). When co-workers show intolerance or disrespect toward others, this really has a negative effect on an organization, a school, or a group. This is difficult to address when the incivility starts at the top of an organization and it breeds throughout the environment and it runs rampant.…

Good evening it is good to see so many familiar faces again! I am Christal Klinger a born and raised Colorado native growing up in different suburbs around the Denver Metro area until my family settled in the mountains above Boulder, Colorado. Once I graduated from high school, I went back to Denver, found the love of my life (we just celebrated 22 blissful years) and then moved and have lived for the past 17 years in a small town on the High Plains called Kiowa (like the Native American tribe). We have two amazing children, one has already flown the coop and lives in Denver, while the other is still home with us, a junior in high school and keeps us busy.…

After taking this class and getting a true understand I knew it was time to really be a positive influence and make a great impact on people of my color, culture and social class. On this journey of becoming a positive impact in my community, I was introduced to all different types of people and made connections that I believe are for a lifetime. After hearing their stories about their lives and culture that they had been brought up in, it made me take a step back and look at my own life. I began to put things into a better perspective and realized that just because negative things are going on around me and have been for years that doesn 't have to affect my upbringing in a negative manner.…

He talks very soft, which is how he keeps the room so quiet and mellow. When he has the students break off into doing their own assignments, he will go back to his desk and have a few students go back there with him to work on something together. Everyone feels safe and accepted all of the time because everyone is allowed to engage in everything, and the desks are put together in an orderly fashion.…

I have to say this class somehow opened my mind in the relationship with people. I did not expect there were so many things that need to learn and practice to understand others and myself. For example, in a group project I was placed in a group with different age, sex, ethnic and personality. I somehow end up became the lead person in the group which is something that I never see myself to be based on the understanding of my own personality. After few weeks of unsuccessful communication with the group members, I had learned everyone are different and I can’t expect them to do it my way.…
