What I Learned In Online Class

Improved Essays
I feel like Honors English is going to be an exciting challenge. It is the first online class I have ever taken. That in its self is very scary. My biggest challenge will be breaking away from the norm of a classroom setting, and mastering being one hundred percent online. One of my biggest fears is the unknown, and for me, online classes are an unexplored territory. I feel I will be able to overcome, and conquer this fear with the helpful tools provided to me in Blackboard.

Primarily, one of the most important things I have learned in the beginning of this course, is how to find my lessons for the week. Even though they can be found in multiple places, I find it extremely helpful that there is a lessons tab that will provide me with everything I need to do in chronological order. Apart from the lessons tab, I can also find out what is due next by viewing the course calendar, or

I now know this is going to be very helpful resource throughout this entire course. This is a place where I will be able to interact with my fellow classmates, and reach out to them for any help I may need on assignments that we are all working on. It defiantly gives me a sense of comfort to be able to communicate with the other people taking this course, being that I am so used to a class room setting.

Finally, what I have come to realize, and or learn, from the first week of this course, is that communication is going to be my key to success. If I do not know what I should do next, or am unclear on a topic, all I need to do is ask. There is an abundance of resources at my fingertips. Not only has my professor has made it easy to communicate with him by sending an email or text message, but I also have the discussion board to utilize my class mates, the multiple tutorial videos that can be found in the resources tab, and if all else fails, I can go to the campus and seek help from a live

This course was extremely intriguing and had me hooked from the first discussion forum. It required me to venture out of my comfort zone and ask questions that others viewed as odd, but I knew was going to assist me in my studies. I can recall one specific instance where I was on twenty-four-hour duty and I began asking a police officer doing his security checks questions. It had to be two in the morning and you can tell by the exhausted look on his face when he walked through the bitter cold into our dimly lit building entrance. He spoke with very little energy as he said good morning, but once I began asking him the list of questions that I just so happened to have typed on my laptop screen he immediately perked up and began to speak with life.…

During this semester I personally contributed to my overall success in the PTAP 2310 class by studying consistently and coming prepared to class. I found that having previously read the chapter and notes, I was able to further understand what Dr. Amite was teaching. This also proved to be beneficial if I had trouble understanding a portion of the chapter I could come with questions. I entered this class knowing that my performance and understanding of the information relied heavily on my entrance into the PTA program. Becoming a PTA is so important to me that it kept me driven to have a complete understanding of the material, even when it was most difficult.…

Final Essay: How Topics In This Course Relate to the “Working” World The first day of this course was a memorable one. I remember walking into class and sitting next to someone who I had not seen for a couple of semesters, and we were chatting about what we thought this course was going to be like. After the professor opened the class, he made it clear that this was not an ordinary class, taught in the time-weathered classic method of notes, lecture and paper exam course instruction. Now, the class was structured to teach facts and equations in the book, but went beyond that, using supplements like in-class examples, random questions and the powerpoints constructed by peers.…
