I don’t remember everything that about my time in kindergarten, but I do remember how frustrated I was trying to write out my name. I would always get in trouble for forgetting to dot my i’s. It took a long time for me to do it, even now I sometimes forget to do so. Another thing that frustrated me was to write out the same sentences over and over again. As a cheat, I would always write the words down in a line so I would be completing multiple lines at once so I could get it done more quickly. The one good thing about kindergarten was that I finally could write my own name, rather than asking my mom or dad or siblings to …show more content…

After that I would write each paragraph separately and later combine them. Then I would edit everything I believed was Grammarly incorrect. If I believed that my essay was at satisfactory level, I would submit it to the teacher whose class I was doing it for. My writing process during high school, didn’t change all that much it the steps, it just became more complex. Instead of only writing about my topic and reasons supporting it, I would write a counter argument as well, to emphasize my

Staring at the first page of my new composition book, my mind went completely blank, realising that I had no idea what to write. At that time, I was behind on English compared to average kids because I spoke Cantonese at home. Therefore, I was never taught how to read or write. Since I was a naive 5-year-old, I could not comprehend why I was the only one incapable of creating sentences that everyone else was easily doing. Nervously,…

I chose to revise the first and forth essay. I chose these because they are the shortest essays. When I revised my papers I tried to think about the questions someone else who is not familiar with the topics would ask about my papers and I answered them.…

Writing is an art; we create our thoughts in your mind and express it on paper. Once we start writing we keep getting new ideas and when we re-read what we wrote, sometimes it might surprise us. I like to write during early mornings or in the evening when it is quiet. My reading table is facing towards the window so when fresh air is in my room, fresh ideas generate inside me as well. I make sure to have some healthy snacks and a bottle of water in front me…

I have loved to write since I can remember chewing on my first pencil eraser. I started with scribbles, and then random words. Later on, however, I was required to write persuasive arguments and academic jibber jabber. Writing these papers, I began with a claim or argument in mind I intended to convince my readers was true. Not wanting to waste much time, I started by writing down my main idea and then searching for relevant stuff to fill the paper with the required number of words.…

My Path to Literacy For a very long time writing and reading was a huge struggle for me. I was one of those students who was very intelligent, but disliked reading tremendously and was often told, “You write the way you talk”. The older I grew the more I realized that my struggles with writing was due to my lack of reading. I was aware of my issues but because it became a part of my writing habits it was hard to adapt to anything different. I wanted to be like everyone else and be a good authentic and productive writer but it seemed almost impossible.…

I have always considered my relationship with writing to be very insignificant. Although I enjoy spending time verbally expressing my thoughts and feelings to others, it becomes difficult when these thoughts and feelings are expressed through writing. Throughout my adolescent years, I would often receive feedback for my writing given by the teacher in the form of a grade. Being unable to effectively organize my thoughts and ideas into words and sentences, I would feel reluctant to continue writing confidently whenever I received an undesirable grade.…
