The things that I'm good inside of school is math because I find it very easy to work with numbers, and solve problems that include numbers in it. I am also good at Biology because I find the topic very interesting because I like learning about how our bodies works, and how our body is harmed by things around us. Another thing that I feel like I'm good at doing is reading, because I feel like when I'm reading a book, or story I can picture it clearly, and feel like I'm in the story. One of my strengths is that once I start doing something I can't stop till I accomplish it or am satisfied with the work that I have done or the effort that I have put. Something I'm good at doing outside of school is playing video games because I like doing…

I moved in the middle of my junior year of high school. At my old high school in California, I was a cheerleader. Cheering was what I loved, and after settling in, I decided I wanted to try out at my new school. Friends were hard to find during this time in the move and I believed I could only make a lot of friends if I made the team. I took classes to prepare myself and was hopeful when tryouts came.…

I used to assume things about people based on how they acted in school. For example, during my sophomore year of high school, I disliked a girl in my homeroom simply because she was too happy and nice. She never complained or showed distaste for anyone or anything in school, and she never seemed to have problems with others. I thought that she was being phony, because in high school people are rarely always happy and nice to others. I never talked to her or went near her, because of my assumption, until our senior year.…

As I don’t go to many outwardly social events, I am choosing to write about the social climate at my gym. I think that the gym is mainly a front stage, with little back stages that you can retreat to. Many people come to the gym to manage how others see them by showing off how their body looks or how hard they work, they are performing for the crowd. In the gym setting, personal space is a very strange thing, with everyone having their opinion on what personal space constitutes as. I also noticed some role conflict going on while observing these people working out.…

Although other students find their talent to be a sport or artistic ability, I find my strong suit to be perseverance and a determination to keep on working. Ever since I was able to walk my father put me to work, whether it was to help build upon the house or help tend to the yard, I was always working. By spending long days busting my back outside or at my grandpas house I managed to appreciate the necessity of work and the satisfaction of finishing long tiring projects. As I grew my work grew with me and I would constantly conquer more satisfying projects such as helping my dad build a wood shed or building a wrap around porch, although these projects destroyed motivation while working I always found inner strength to get done what we had…

Something I would consider to be a special talent of mine is my ability to help others and provide a sense of leadership. Over the past 2 years I have been given the opportunity to assist in classes at the local elementary school. Being around the kids has given me a sense of responsibility and the opportunity to potentially serve as a role model. I have so much fun spending time with all the children, it is a great relief from the stressful high school routines. Spending a portion of my day around the children has led me to realize I have a natural talent connecting with children and providing a helpful and comforting environment.…

I love Pediatrics. In many ways, it has been a nurturing relationship that has seen me evolve not only as a young physician but also as a human being. When my ‘romance’ with Pediatrics started some odd years ago, quite a number of my medical school classmates had something to say about my choice. Whilst most of my close friends and family were supportive, there were more than a few that just couldn't fathom why I would opt for a specialty of howling infants and runny noses. When I gained admission into medical school, I couldn't at the time picture myself caring for sick children.…

My observation for my Internal Assessment was performed at the Green Lake High School Workout Center after school Thursday February 4th. I was looking at the difference between men and women and what they do when working out. I sat at the desk right by the entrance door where I could see what everyone was doing. Before my observation, I had a few predictions on what I would observe. I thought that men would use a lot more weight machines and women would do a lot more cardio and abdominal workouts.…

The UNCA gym is like many other gyms in its mannerisms and general gym etiquette, yet differs in its general populace and overarching atmosphere. I have been attending gyms regularly for approximately three years now, and while working out and especially while resting I have had the opportunity to partake in one of my favorite idle activities, people watching. The gym provides an environment that is unique in that it is centered around self-improvement and so theoretically carries a higher degree of self awareness with it as well. While one is working on their body’s image I believe that they are more aware of their social image that they cultivating through their actions at the same time. What The focus of recent lectures and laboratory sessions has been on how to integrate technology with math as well as continuing to be introduced to new applications that encourage hands-on learning with students. Math being a subject I work hard to avoid as much as professionally possible, these lessons were helpful for getting me to face my greatest weakness and become more comfortable as well as resourceful with how I approach the topic in the classroom now and in the future. Working as a substitute teacher, I get the unique opportunity to take what I see out in the classrooms and connect it with what I learn in my courses, as well as I get to take what I learn in my college courses and use it to improve my skills as I substitute teach.…
