What I Learned In Anatomy Class

Decent Essays
Junior year I decided to simultaneously take AP biology and anatomy, which was difficult at times because both subjects heavily provide a lot of information. Overall, I looked forward towards learning about the human body because I genuinely wanted to know how the body works together to support itself. One notable challenge I had in anatomy was constantly taking assessments based off of the articles and what we learned. The class itself was fast-paced, which pushed me to devote more time towards studying and testing myself, allowing me to retain more information and prepare for tests. Of course that class changed me by causing me to develop studying habits whether if it was using quizlet and reviewing my notes, to watching YouTube lectures

During the second semester of my junior in high school, I collaborated with two other biology students to study for our International Baccalaureate exams in May. I am not trying to say that my teacher was a terrible teacher but the teacher was retiring the following year and did not worry too much about our success in the exams. My two classmates and I decided to form a study group. We each would study and try our hardest to understand particular chapters and then share the chapters with the other two. By going this route, we were able to maximize our knowledge intake on the year and a half biology syllabus which we did not have time for.…

During nursing school, pediatrics and med-surg were my two of my most favorite classes. Not only was I interested in the material that was being taught, I was able to store that information in my long term memory. Being able to understand the process and connect the dots helped me to do well in both of those classes. I used that knowledge during my pediatric rotations at Cook Children’s and was able to determine why the patients experienced certain symptoms and what methods of treatment they need.…

In the past, some subjects that have been the hardest to me have been cosmetology, art and chemistry. It seems quite easy to notice where you have had difficulties and to know where will you excel or struggle in. As much as I loved cosmetology and as much as I wanted to learn and study that I knew that I was going have my struggles. It has been hard because cosmetology has a little something of each subject in the course and the art and the chemistry have made it difficult for me. Chemistry made it hard for me where we have to make the tint and mix get a new compound.…

Growing up in a blue collar, middle American, union home has given me the privilege to accomplish many of the goals that I have set forth for myself without much trouble. I grew up in a predominantly caucasian town, with a well funded school system, and was I active in my local congregation, which has impacted the way that I see the world. My parents played an extremely active role in my life and encouraged my siblings and I to work hard and to set high goals for ourselves. They would be critical of our decision making and insisted that we be responsible and finish the goals that we had set for ourselves because quitting was never an option for us. I think that class has always played a critical role in shaping my worldview.…

Human anatomy is related to three dimensional form in a variety of ways. Having the proper proportion and scale of human body parts plays a major role for creating a sense of illusion and realism. For example, a viewer can look at a drawn human figure and tell that the drawing is a human representation because all the details and proportions are located in the accurate position. In other words, the viewer's eye is fooled by the sense of illusion. Also, creating correct proportions are the foundations for character modeling and animations.…

The beginning of my first semester at the University of Akron, has been a complete roller coaster. I have made friends, lost friends, dropped classes and of course, slept through classes. I came into college thinking that I would make a ton of friends, get excellent grades and maybe even go to a few parties. I did not think that I would be close to almost dropping out of college as a whole.…

During three of my four years of high school I took various forms of a biology class, beginning with “Biology Honors” my freshman year and moving on to “IB Biology HL I” in my junior year, followed by “IB Biology HL II” senior year. I recall freshman year paying little to no attention to the lectures I received in class. Instead, I’d write down song lyrics in my biology notebook and talk to the friends sitting next to me. Every exposition on photosynthesis or Latin nomenclature sailed through one ear, rattling in my brain for a short moment for later recollection on a test or quiz, before leaving my active mind forever. Everything in the class seemed so distant to me due to my inattention.…

Jennifer Datus Anatomy and Physiology II Essay Questions Test 2 Professor Vernet 1. The beginning of the cardiac cycle starts with deoxygenated blood from the systemic circulation entering the heart into the right atrium from the superior and inferior vena cava. A chamber of the heart beats because of the electrical impulses located around areas of the heart that travel across the heart which allows the muscles to contract. The SA node located in the right atrium is also known as the pacemaker of the heart, this node conducts an electrical impulse that makes the right atrium contract causing the tricuspid valve to open and for blood to pass through into the right ventricle. Then when the right ventricle is ready to contract the tricuspid…
