Every March my parents would pick out a special a calf for me to show in the local county fair, working with my calf every morning taught me how to take care of an animal and how to take pride in my work. After the first couple years of showing cows I was hooked, every year since the age of 5 I attended Lewis county fair taking grand champion numerous times. People started to take notice of how hard it was working and how I enjoyed taking care of my animals, so my dad's friends took me and my cow to the new york state fair to show in the junior division. After one week of working my butt off, i only stood 5th, but I didn't care about where I placed as much as how much I learned about how to work and how to enjoy doing it. From there I worked with others people's cows going from show to show most of that summer and early fall, each show learning different methods of taking care of the cows. Growing up on a farm showed me so much about life and how to work.being a farm kid has given me such an advantage over most kids because it has taught me Responsibility, determination, dependability, flexibility and most important work
