What I learned from this project

There are many important things to take away from a project like this. Though some can be monetarily related, some are valuable in a much more sentimental sense. The type of money that is used to support my life every month is astounding and worthy of investigation, which this project forced me to do. I am very surprised with my findings and glad I took the time to dive deep into my finances. Some of what I found definitely has changed my spending habits and forced introspection on my spending values. I think every college student should participate in a project like this.

The greatest thing I have taken away from this project is how much my parents spend on me every month. I have never really thought about the amount of money it takes just for me to survive, let alone attend college and live in an amazing apartment. I am truly blessed to have such a family to support me on my quest for knowledge and a career. It makes me want to succeed even more knowing how much they are willing to invest in me. This project has definitely opened my eyes on what my parents give me and how much I contribute to their financial burden every month. I have learned that

I really do believe this project has benefitted me in many ways, short and long term. After finding the wasteful spots I am spending money, I think I will be able to adjust accordingly and be equipped to save a substantial amount of money after I graduate and attain my first job. It has certainly helped me be more conscious of my spending, and, I believe in long term, I will be wise with my investing and 401k savings. Before this class, I have basically no understanding of how much, when, and why one should invest. I honestly think every student should take this course to better understand their personal finances and be able to apply better spending habits to their own
