I have learned so much about myself from taking this class. The biggest thing that I have learned from the self-assessments is that I am very intrinsically motivated. I believe this to be true because I am truly invested in my education and have set goals that I am working toward completing. Currently I have some short term and long term goals that I am working toward achieving. Some of my short term goals are finishing this semester, saving enough money at work to buy a car and get a place of my own to live, and making sure I get registered and enrolled for next semester. My long term goals are to get my Associates Degree from Georgia Perimeter College, get my B.B.A. in Real Estate from Georgia State University, successfully get licensed to practice real estate appraisal in Colorado, make the migration to Colorado to …show more content…
The person who influenced me with this career idea was my financial advisor. After my Grandfather passed away two years ago, I had to get a financial advisor to help me with the estate. There were many appraisals that I learned to read in order to manage the estate and the trust. I took a major interest in the appraisal business at that point and my financial advisor told me about the business. My advisor has a few friends in the business that he offered to contact for me. 5 years from now I can foresee myself completing an apprenticeship as a real estate appraiser trainee and getting ready to get my state license. I plan will be doing my apprenticeship in Denver, Colorado which is where I wish to live after completing my B.B.A. in Real Estate from Georgia State University. After getting licensed, I plan on going into business for myself and focusing on the commercial aspect of real estate which interests me the most. Also, strategically investing my money into real estate which my education should provide me with the knowledge to do

This drove me to discover a new way to spend my day. On the television I noticed a recurring advertisement for a game called ‘World of Warcraft’. At first I instilled the mindset that I could spend my time pragmatically but eventually I succumbed to boredom.…

Keeping my three personal and professional goals realistic, I would have to say a personal goal is to finish school at SNHU with a 3.0 GPA or above. I think a way for me to accomplish this goal is to stay focused on the tasks at hand, maintain a good relationship with my advisors and to utilize some of the tutoring options that are available to me as a student. Another personal goal is to work on myself, mentally. I cannot be a good mom or wife when I have the stress, anxiety and depression that I do. A way to help accomplish this goal is to not only start speaking with a psychiatrist (first appointment is August 4th) but to also have my thyroid checked.…

Before I began my Freshman Development Seminar course with Professor Furet, I believed that this class would not be of good use to me. The reason for this was because of my beliefs in self-teaching myself to learn the basics with additional help from other sources. However, it did not turn out the way I wanted it to be. Therefore, I had to pay to get taught what I could have done on my own, at least that is what I convinced myself then and there. Throughout my class sessions with Ms. Furet, I learned more than I could have ever imagined.…
