What I Learned About The Bible Essay

This class from the beginning until now I have learned more and more about the Bible. I can’t say that I knew everything prior to this class as that wouldn’t be the truth. The difficult part each week would have been choosing the most significant thing I learned each week because I felt as though I always learned more than one. The history of the Bible, the disciples, and the life, death and resurrection of Jesus and his community are important events that I have reflected on the most throughout the class. As I learned about the history of how we got the Bible I was so influenced by the back story. “The Bible was written over a 1500 year span” (How We Got the Bible). Learning how long it took to get the Bible showed me how things that are in the Bible could have been misinterpreted. The stories of the people that were willing to die in order to read the Bible in their own language pops the question, “Are we still willing to die to read the Gospel?” Will we continue to take the Bible for granted? I am grateful for the ability to be able to find a Bible in my own language everywhere I go. I believe in my heart that I would be willing to die for others to learn the Way. I also believe that this learning moment has taught me how to take charge of a situation as those who took charge of their beliefs. In the work place we are meant to take charge and help those who don’t know a system to learn. Jesus appointed the twelve disciples to a threefold process:” to be with him, and…
