During the semester I learned a lot about myself as a writer. I learned new techniques and new approaches in my writing. As the semester comes to an end, I am given a chance to reflect about all the things that I have learned. During the semester I was able to develop my writing avoid including unnecessary information. I was able to analyze poetry and stories and expand on my thoughts. I got a chance to explore critical theory, narrative elements, and dramatic expressions. In my final portfolio I spotted some of my strengths and weaknesses in writing. I decided to revise the first two essays I wrote this semester. The first essay I analyzed is the poem “My Papa’s Waltz” by Theodore Roethke and in the second essay I analyzed the short story
