Personal Narrative: A Career As A Computer Scientist

Though not having met Jacque Fresco in person, he has had a huge impact in my life. For most of my life, I wanted to be a doctor due to the monetary and social benefits. This dream of mine was from the tender age of two. At that point in time, I was fascinated by my pediatricians. This continued till around the late 8th grade. It was during the 8th grade where I developed a fascination with physics and wanted to be a physicist. However, when I moved to the United States in the summer of 2014, I got more and more confused with finding a career path. During this time, I learned about anthropology, mysticism, black nationalism, and philosophy. All that knowledge broadened my options for different career paths. This was around the same time that I learned about Jacque Fresco. He spoke on lots of topics that interested me, including behaviorism, social organization, art, science, architecture, and industrial design. Often, he spoke about the problems facing the world like armed conflicts, poverty, climate change, overpopulation, and dwindling natural resources. Psychology will help me make an impact on the world. By utilizing the principles of psychology I’ll be able to create AI capable of mimicking human-level intelligence, learning, and memory. Additionally, the principles of psychology will help in the creation of AI capable of devising algorithms to best appropriate natural resources, create better forms of government, and increase the quality of life for the people of the world.
