In the tragedy of Macbeth a lot of people may argue about who or what holds the most power to influence the actions of others. I think the three witches hold the most power to influence the actions of others because they are powerful and evil. They suggest ideas to Macbeth, and Macbeth is convinced by their ideas.
The first reason why the witches hold the most power to influence the actions of others is because they make predictions and Macbeth believes them. “Be bloody, bold, and resolute. Laugh to scorn The power of man for none of woman born shall harm Macbeth” (IV. i. 79-81). Another prediction is when they say “Be lion-metted, proud, and take no care who chafes, who frets, or where conspires are. Macbeth shall never vanquished be until Great Birnam Wood to high Dunsinane Hill shall come against him” (IV. i. 90-94). The witches help to put ideas in Macbeth’s mind.

But I blame the witches because they gave him a lot of ideas and made him believe them. If the witches never told him about their predictions, Macbeth would have different ideas.
