After I had been led to Panchito I immediately noticed his face in shock, terrified, and like his heart had been torn into millions of pieces. While we were driving he looked so disappointed. Ten minutes later I asked hi, if he knew why his teacher did all that, all he responded was with a sigh. We then got told we were going to pick up a Roberto, when he heard them say Roberto his face turned as fast as lightining I could tell they were some how related or connected. When I asked if he knew Roberto he immediately responded with "He is my brother" I was very shocked because they never told us they were brothers and it was two different people who called in for them.

As we got to the other school Roberto was brought out Roberto, we could see him struggling. Whne they got him into the green van, Roberto and Panchito hugged and teared up. I heard over the speaker in the van that I needed to pick up a few more immigrants, Panchito then asked if I knew the names of he other people, I then said no because they didn't tell me the names. We then arrived at a ranch, both Roberto and Panchito looked very nervous and anxious, I saw another green

As we started to drive I could hear the parents murmering something, I tried to listen carefully but couldn't hear anything. I then heard a soft cry, i knew it was the mother because she was the only girl in the van. I asked what's wrong, and she just scoffed because I knew what was wrong. I then told them something that would change everything, I said that the 2 kids and the mom could just go threw the long process of becoming a citizen, and everyone will be able to stay. Throughout the many years of my life, there have been many inspirational people who have impacted me personally, but the person who stood out the most to me has been Diane Guerrero. Guerrero is an actress that plays a role in the show Orange Is the New Black known as Maritza Ramos and in the show Jane the Virgin as Lina. What amazes me the most about her is how she was able to overcome the difficult circumstances that she had to face alone, due to her parents who were deported when Guerrero was only 14 years old. She was raised in Boston and remained there after her family was deported back to Colombia. Even after being orphaned, she faced society alone and successfully became an actress and was able to achieve it all on her own.…

Like the first impression of a kid who’s seeing Disneyland for the first time, and then they get there and they’re overwhelmed. It was great, and I had the biggest smile on my face and the thought of my mom and brother back in Haiti was distant in my…

In Mexico during the early 1980’s, a group of young siblings living in poverty tell an important story of the immigrant experience and the drives behind migration. Reyna Grande’s, The Distance Between Us, is a memoir written with the recurring appeal to the reader’s pathos. Grande uses the rhetorical strategy to keep the reader’s interest and to help them make personal connections to the story. Grande’s use of pathos helps to show not only the importance of understanding the immigrant experience, but also the importance of following your dreams. For example, the first chapters of the memoir are predominately about Grande and her siblings’ experience living with their Abuelita Evila in Mexico.…

After watching the documentary Paycheck to Paycheck, I was left with a lot of uncertainty about people living in poverty. It is truly devastating how can single mothers survive with having such low income. It makes me extremely mad the fact that there is no more help for someone in this kind of situation who really needs a hand. It is truly amazing to see how Katrina manages to raise her three children by herself making that little amount of salary. Sincerely my heart was breaking watching this because I can totally relate to her story.…
