The setting of The Crucible has a lot in common with LeRoy. Salem is a small town, everyone knows everyone. Word gets around really fast, when one person found out about the girls doing witchcraft everyone knew. once that happened people started to believed that they were actually being possessed by a dark spirit. Doctors examined the girls in LeRoy and they found nothing, the girls didn’t have a problem. In Salem a doctor examined the girls and also found out that there was nothing wrong with them. It seems that the girls are just playing a mind game. They are tricking themselves into believing that there is really something wrong. They are deep into the lies and many people have been dragged into it, it’s too late for them to tell the truth now. The whole town seems to feed into the girls drama and it just makes the effect stronger. Like in salem when the girls were caught in the forest people just assumed they were doing witchcraft, the situation was taken too far. The girls started to accuse innocent people.
