What Happened During The Enlightenment

The enlightenment, was a philosophical movement characterized by belief in power of human reasons and by innovations in political religious and educational doctrine ( 2071 Dictionary). The enlightenment was for writers to improve aspects in the world, the name for the enlightenment was the “ Age of reason”. A lot of different changes to place during the enlightenment. Enlightenment thinkers embraced their ideas with the goal of inquiry that was discovered understanding to prove behavior, structures and interactions (Forging the Modern World 143). Along with political and socio- economic development, liberalism, and capitalism, absolutism also plays major roles during this era. The enlightenment brought freedom and equality for all. It had many impacts on the political and socio- economic development because of one’s radical thoughts and also because people were finally able to speak and act for themselves. First what is enlightenment by Emanuel Kent, because he is explaining what enlightenment is, what happened during enlightenment and how he feels it should be this article reminded me of John Locke because Kent states “For the enlightenment however nothing is required but freedom” ( What is Enlightenment CP 60) I related this quoted to John Locke because it reminds me of the Natural rights .
