I will be testing some of the top brand golf balls to see which golf ball bounces and travels the furthest.

Your choice of golf balls can significantly affect your game. Golf balls with more dimples cut through the air easier than those with fewer dimples. However, dimple-dense balls tend to fly higher instead of further. If your stroke could use more height or you want your golf ball to soar through the air with little wind resistance, consider golf balls with more dimples. The best golf balls have between 380 and 432…

Origins of Golf Terminology While it is humorous, it is not true that the word Golf is an acronym for Gentlemen Only Ladies Forbidden. The word “golf” actually comes from the past term for ‘club’. The earliest known mention of the word golf was in 1457 when King JamesⅡtried to ban “ye golf” in order to have more focused on Archery practice (Bogey para 5-9). However, the term golf, defind as we know it, was originated in Scotland.…

Golf became popular in America in the 1890s. The wealthy classes formed private golf clubs where they could play. Then just like today, its appeal depended on time and money. We must change this perception that golf only allows businessmen to get to know each other and do deals between shots and that only those privileged can play. Golf needs to be aimed and marketed to kids more than ever, it builds character as well as relationships.…

Make sure you get a big enough net to collect all of your shots. You also want to make sure it is made out of quality material so it won’t easily tear when you are hit balls with full force. Another thing you need to consider when buying a golf practice net is the bounce back ability. Golf balls are very hard and are thus very dangerous. When you hit the ball in the net the last thing you want to do is have it ricochet or bounce back towards you.…

An outsider to golf may think the sport is boring, quiet, monotonous, that it has no point. After all, isn’t it just a bunch of guys carrying heavy bags, whacking balls around for hours at a time? What’s the point? As it turns out, there is more to golf than what's on the surface. It is not boring, quiet, or even monotonous, and it definitely does have a point -- more than one, actually.…

My mother and stepfather got me interested in the sport 3 years ago, and I’m still bad. However, as someone who has never had to work to be good at much in my life, golf is a good lesson. It’s perfectly acceptable to merely enjoy something and not be perfect- a concept lost in the fast-paced, dog eat dog world we live in. First thing’s first: I’m not an athlete. I’m an artist, an author, and a student.…

My socks were wet from all the dew that had not yet evaporated from the long blades of grass that I was searching through frantically. Do you know the number of people who watched the Olympics? Well, neither do I, but it’s legions of people, so that lets people ask for a large wad of money from companies who want to advertise at the Olympics or in between at the commercial breaks. So hopefully there are now none who question that golf is a sport, but for those of you, brigands who just skip to the end without reading, I will summarize the paper. Golf is a sport in both definition in addition to comparison, and should thus continue to be in the Olympics.…

Lost in my thoughts of form and grip, contemplating yardage, angle and loft, dreaming of my future, I am at peace, I am on the golf course. When I was four years old, my dad put a club in my hand and a ball at my feet, since then, I have loved and despised the game of golf. From the moment I was introduced to the game, I was hooked and while many view it simply as ‘a game’, I have been fortunate enough to take much more away from the course.…

Golf, in my opinion, is the hardest sport in the world and I love it. The reason I love the sport of golf so much is because it is so complex yet so simple. The main objective is to get the ball in the whole, simple right? Not at all. You have to keep your body squared to the ball while hitting, you also have to rotate your body in your backswing while keeping your lead arm straight.…
