What Drives People Undertake A Mission

Decent Essays
(Before I begin writing this essay, i just wanted to state that i do not know what the question exactly is, im going into this assuming that the question is, what drives people to undertake a mission.)

What drives people to undertake a mission is the, determination. The recent events that happen will determine if a person will undertake a mission.

For example, Farah Ahmedi had been determined to go on this mission to get out of Pakistan because of a man named Ghulam Ali. Before they had met him, she hadn't been so determined to get out. They went up to the gate, saw it was closed by guards, and almost gave completely up. But then when they met Ghulam who had sided with them, they had been determined.

Another example is The Hobbit, when Gandalf and them first got to Bilbo's house, Bilbo had no idea what was happening, or at all what was going on. But then Bilbo hears Gloin in the other room, and he makes nasty comments about how Bilbo was not the right man for the job. After he heard this, Bilbo stormed in and very firmly told Gloin that although he might not seem like the right guy for the job, he definitely was, and he would with the angry determination he had.

In a nutshell, Drive, written by Daniel H. Pink, is a book on what really motivates as humans. For the longest time, I think we all that the key motivators in life are external incentives, like money, bonuses, vacation time, etc. What Pink has found through his own research and through experiments of various psychologists is that the main motivators are intrinsic. Once basic monetary means are met, people are motivated by having a desire to achieve mastery, gain autonomy, and work for a purpose.…

What drives us to undertake a mission? What would you be willing to risk just to reach your goal? Maybe, it's just the satisfaction of feeling good about your self,or maybe you do it just to reach a certain goal. Vice versa, it is also probable that everyone can say that they have come across someone who seems to never stop working towards achieving the goals that he/she has set for himself/herself.
