What Does Ziplining Mean To Me Essay

Improved Essays
It was time. It was finally time to go on the zipline course over the animal park. I was very excited, but still a little nervous. We all got on a truck to bring us to the first tower, we drove through the park and saw all the lovely animals roaming and minding their own business. When we got to the tower we had to climb a tower soaring 75 feet up in the air and after we finally reached the top, we secured our harnesses and tightened our helmets and it was time to start. I was usually not one to do things I was not comfortable with, I ate the same foods, watched the same shows, did stuff with the same people. I like comfort and security. So as you can probably imagine, ziplining would not be my cup of tea. Well, I thought the same thing. When my mom and I were looking for things to do in Arizona we came across ziplining. I was not too excited about that idea, but my mom was, so, she forced me into in the most loving way. Needless to say I gave in and we were going to make the tour plus hours North from Scottsdale to just South of Sedona to Camp Verde, Arizona.

It was a blast, we were all having a great time, sharing laughs, enjoying the view, and most importantly just enjoying the experience. After a while we got to the longest trail on the course which soared over the lion habitat in the animal park. On this line a few people, including my mom, went before me and then it was time for me to go. This time, I jumped off the platform and went shooting above the lions and rest of the park until suddenly something did not seem too right. I started slowing down before I should have. This was not necessarily the best scenario, but I was still hoping for the best. I was almost at the platform, then I paused for a very brief moment and started sliding back to the center. This was not something they had prepared us for in our morning

Have you ever got to enjoy hot and ready breakfast in bed? Well, I have, on the day I got to go to Six Flags which to be exact was February the second, twenty-thirteen. Oh, the smell of apple wood honey bacon with two over-medium eggs with a hash brown intrigued with cheese and onions in the middle is the smell of breakfast at its finest. The morning was also a treat in itself with the view of the marvelous, enchanting sunrise and the bluebonnets that my family and I have planted in our backyard gave the right appearance for the new day. Now, this was a Saturday so there’s no school…

Exhilarating: a term making one feel very happy, animated, or elated, would be the perfect word to describe what the day had in store for us eager, and jubilant grade 6 students. A thrilled and luminous smile lit up on my enthusiastic face as I ambled on the same rugged, cracked, gray tinted sidewalk that I had sauntered on everyday for a year. The serene, endless sky was the perfect shade of aqua as the light, silky, radiant clouds formed delicate shapes. The sun was glistening with great luminosity. Suddenly I heard someone screaming my name well not really; it was my nickname, one that really agitated me in an incredibly obnoxious way, “Babikathu wait up”.…

The day was gloomy and cloudy with a chance of lightning on the way. Woke up, feeling nauseous and a bit scared thinking about the huge rides I was to encounter. I could still remember all of the videos I watched the day before and they weren’t making my situation any better. One video showed a slingshot ride preparing to launch two kids and the cable snaps, hitting the floor with enough force to break cement. When I watched those videos I felt as if that would happen to me, my brother and my friends.…

Nearly a year ago, I went on a trip to the Philippines with my entire family. One day while we were staying at a resort, they had an activity board, and one of the activities was zip-lining. Back then I had a small fear of heights, so I was very hesitant to go zip-lining. After some thinking, I came to a decision because I thought that if I did it, I would no longer have a fear of heights and I shouldn’t be afraid of anything. Since I had a fear of heights, I was hesitant of going zip-lining.…
