What Does Writing Mean To Me Essay

Improved Essays
Let’s just start off and say that I love to write. Writing helps me express my feelings so people can get to know me better. I do not like talking in front of the class, so instead I like to write because I’m a very shy person. Writing is a huge thing in my everyday life for an example when I do homework, I make a list and it’s just the little things like that, that help me become a better writer. I don’t hate reading, but I like writing a lot better than reading because writing I can write memories and things that happened to me on that day. There are countless things holding me back from writing like I don’t know what to write about or I don’t think I have enough to say about one subject, but no matter what I’ll try and finish an assignment the …show more content…
It’s very difficult for me to write at school, because I can’t write my best with people around me, but whenever I’m alone the more I can write about and think harder. I love writing about memories I have made throughout the years with my friends/best friends. It makes me remember them even if they were 5 years ago, I still laugh to this day! Writing helps me show everyone how my life has been and make him or her put their shoes in my footsteps and see all the crazy things that have happened to me the last 13-14 years. The reason I like writing is because if you keep the stories you wrote when you were in like kindergarten, you can still read them when you're a senior. I don’t like reading because yeah, you can remember about the book you read, but a story will always hold a place in anyone’s heart. If I were a writing teacher, I would teach my students that it’s the best to tell the truth and explain about your life or the things that are holding you back, because life keeps moving on and you have to be a cheerful person to succeed. Writing helps me understand life better and listening to people’s stories is my favorite thing to do, because it’s really enjoyable seeing whom a person really

Writing would never be called my passion; however, if the topic of interest is thought-provoking, writing can be pleasurable. I have always been exceedingly critical of my writing, and I have a bad habit of producing your standard “five paragraph with five sentences” essay. High school was the true test of my writing skills, mainly because I had to take the ACT and SAT with writing if I wanted to get into the only Georgia school that I thought was up to par with my standards: The University of Georgia. Even though my teachers have considered me to be an acceptable writer, I have always considered myself rather subpar. This insecurity about my writing has haunted me throughout my life, and I have this feeling towards writing mainly…

As I grew older I noticed how my grandfather was kind and nice to people, I figured that's how he got people to like him. All of that didn't matter though, it was how he wrote things on paper, how he wrote what would be done and how he would do it. My interest in writing began there. Writing is an essential part of my life, it is needed to get my point across to my family or friends.…

Project #1: Literacy Narrative I remember walking across the lawn from our tiny add on classroom, up the stairs, and into the second grade class. Walking to my assigned desk directly in front of the window, I sat down in front of my best friend. Sometimes, sleepy and tired, I stared at the giant oak tree in our school yard and watching the clouds move. My first experience with writing was in fourth grade.…

I don’t have a favorite writing but if I did have one it would be Stephen King I read a lot of books by him in Middle and High school. In conclusion, writing has been important to me while I’m in college and the rest of my life. Writing helps in so many ways to express your emotion or argument about how you feel about that topic. As I grew older, I started to dislike reading because it just seemed boring to me to read the books or novels we had to read in school. Although, I did enjoy to read my own personal books that I checked out from the library, reading was just something I didn’t have much interest for as I did for writing. I greatly enjoyed writing. Most of the writing I have done, whether it be academic or informal, has always had a touch of a personal experience and emotion. I have loved the feeling of calculating thoughts and getting them down on paper.…

My Fear of Writing Writing has always been intimidating to me, and I am working towards overcoming that. I was homeschooled my whole childhood, and learned I learned to avoid writing because it would frustrate my mother whenever I made mistakes. She would make feel very unintelligent and inadequate because I was behind the curve in writing. Instead of using my circumstances to motivate me, I stopped doing schoolwork at 14 years old, became a carpenter, and made a lot more money than all of my friends.…

Writing has always been something I loved to do. I can remember writing stories, poems, journal, and letters every day after school. Not because they were required, but simply because it was something I enjoyed. However, when I got in high school, writing became more of an obligation. I would have to write about stuff that didn't interest me in any type of way.…

Writing is something that everybody does. It takes many forms: a text message, an email, an essay, a resume, or anything. A lot of the time we find ourselves writing for fun, that is, if we are writing to converse with someone. Other times, we find ourselves writing almost robotically, following format and length requirements. These are the times in which writing is less enjoyable.…

It's funny because I have those memories saved till today. Later, in high school I took a creative writing class I'm far from being a good writer, but I love how someone could tell their own story through their own words and make someone else feel what they are feeling or what they felt. I appreciate writing and I consider it a form of art for example music. I don't write music but I love listening to music and having a singer say a deep line or verse in a song and I am able to relate.…
