The mockingbird symbolizes Tom’s innocents, in the book Tom is accused of raping Mayella Ewell. During the trial he clearly makes it clear that the crime he so called committed was impossible for him to do because of his left hand, Tom explains how he hurt his arm to the court. Even though he has shown that he couldn’t of committed the crime he is still found guilty for no reason. Throughout the book we can see that there are some people who know that Tom did not commit the crime but are afraid that if they come out saying that Tom didn’t rape Mayella that the entire town would gang up on them, so they stand back and watch like a bystander. The mockingbird symbol also represents Boo Radley also known as Arthur, in the book the kids and also the adults think that Arthur “Boo” is an awful person who has done terrible things to the people in his life and around him as well, at the end of the book we can tell that Arthur is a nice well-being person who cares about everyone. There are other symbols like the tree near the Radley house, it’s a way for Boo to reach out
