In the first set which is the congruent set of words, the students could read the colour of the words smoothly in a flow as to a point after reading two to three words they were aware of the font colour with the name of the colour were actually similar. This made the students to feel much easier to read them as the way the experiment were carried out. Moreover, in the second experiment, the students found some difficulties in reading the set which was the incongruent set of words. Primarily, students were more focused to the words itself so when asked to focus on the colour of the words, they had trouble in which this lead to a much slower time taken for them to read the set. …show more content…
The students would have just ignored the written name of the colour but focused on the font colour if the Stroop Effect did not exist.
