What Does The Hourglass Mean To Me Essay

I’ve always thought it was funny that when someone asks us what we want to do with our life, we are expected to know. How can one think about their future career when our redundant day to day routine is dependent on the sound of a bell? After today we will flip over our hourglass and take control of our own lives. We can finally start over and reinvent ourselves into the people we have always dreamed of becoming. This is it, after this ceremony we will become new members of our thriving society. Our experiences from the past define who we are today, these moments are why we are the way we are. Some of these experiences may be prominent in our lives for many reasons, whether that be because they changed us, or because they changed someone close to us. Look around, we have all experienced hardships, and moments of joy and pure happiness. Many will miss being packed in the stands yelling and cheering on our sports. Spirit week celebrating homecoming and prom. Our last State Championship Competitions. Academic pep rallies and spending time with old and new friends. In four years college will end and we will flip the glass over to start something new. Down the road, we will turn the hourglass over many times for new life experiences. Some of these times will be worse than others and it will be bumpy. But other times we flip the glass will be wonderful and priceless. Nothing lasts forever, so we must cherish the time we have and live in the moment. We must remember the people that got us to where we are today, and those who will help us turn over our hourglass.
