The symbol I feel like was most important is the green light. What the green light represented was hopes and dreams for Gatsby. In the book “The Great Gatsby” Gatsby whole entire life was a lie. Gatsby wanted a female named Daisy. The reason why he couldn't get with Daisy was because of one important reason. The reasoning behind the fact he couldn’t get with Daisy was because his financial problem. Gatsby promised to Daisy that he would be able to take great care of her but the whole time Gatsby barely can take good care of himself. So basically the Green Light helped Gatsby reach his dreams to becoming the person he claimed he was by joining the Army.
