The aroma of aged and contemporary books when you saunter into the library building, would you miss that? Touching books, writing in them, highlighting them, bookmarking them. Libraries are suffused with so many different resources for researching rather than just books. The card catalog categorizes all the books and where to locate them. Now this process has gone electronically along with the mechanism of checking out books. Is this the future of libraries, a virtual library where everything is downloading ebooks. Previously stated, kids promote their sense of what they like to read. Most kids dread reading from their textbook, what makes you think you could get them to check out a book for leisure time. Reading helps boost one’s vocabulary to articulate themselves. The mastery of reading leads to the mastery of speaking which influences the confidence of these younger generations. Reading requires lots of concentration that these younger generations lack due to the fact that they are too focused on technology rather than going outside or picking up a book. Yet this would draw attention away from books. Dividing the library into different sections where people could talk would disturb those trying to seek peace. The idea of books involve conversation between people, once someone hears of another reading one book it creates this domino effect making others want to read it so they could eventually talk about it. Everyone has their interpretation of what they read, we all have different likes and dislikes. Through these different interpretations we are able to express our imagination and our beliefs. Books are the start of critical thinking making the mind work in ways that help the individual understand his or her own problems.
