“The quartet practiced in the park” Quartet refers to the band The Beatles and the park is symbol that represents Candlestick Park which is where The Beatles did their last performance in 1966. This relates to the theme because it shows how one of the most influential bands of all time stopped performing in the 1960s.

Buddy Holly was Don Mclean’s hero at the time and an important musical figure, he marked his death as the day music began to die because he was such an influential figure in the music industry.
