“Never accept less than your best from yourself.” An excerpt that is restated by parents, teachers, colleagues, and employers into children’s minds. I only marvel what its real meaning holds. People’s minds interpret all things in various ways. When you say a color, or a certain food, some people may think of picnics and love while others may envision the time it gave them food poisoning. So I guess the only question with this quote is what does it mean to me? This quote could be summed up in one word, settling. In popular belief, settling is mediated as a deficient thing, but just how atrocious could it be in my future?

I’m also sure that it had been a different process with their parents than for them also. When my dad was in high school, he was set to go to college and become a graphic designer, he took classes for it in high school and had a full ride, but my grandpa said denied allowing him to go. We have been pushed to do better in school and get the finest grades so we can go to college and have what we want in life, because he never could. Considering these examples, I know that I’m not expected to say I don’t agree with this quote, because what would that say about my character if I challenged it? I would become labeled as lazy, pushover, and a bum. I can assure you that I will amount to great things in life, but I have accepted far less that what I can accomplish in many cases. I sometimes believe that people should just lower their expectations than me having to try so hard to try and meet the requirements everyone
